There is nothing like the first good sweaty yard work expedition of the year. I’ve been cramped up inside all winter, idly picking a few weeds here and there when the mood struck, but nothing too strenuous. And then the sun comes shining out and there is green everywhere and all the sudden it becomes very obvious that I have been neglecting your landscaping. Today I cleaned out the chicken coops, mowed the back lawn, potted up some bulbs that burst out into the middle of the yard (every single year this happens… its so weird! But I’ve gotten some really neat plants out of it so I won’t complain…) and planted yarrow in my calla lilly bed. And I sweat. It felt really… cleansing. And now I stink.
