Feeds 4, one of whom rarely eats enough dinner to sustain a mouse.
1-2 Loaves Yummy Sourdough Artisan Bread (My brother brought us a hefty bag full of bread a few weeks ago. I swear they didn’t come out of the garbage! I froze it and am enjoying delicious bread that I would never be able to afford normally pretty much every day.)
Olive Oil
Sea Salt & White Pepper (or regular old salt & pepper if you want. I just like Sea Salt. It’s like fairytale salt. )
Chunky Marinara Sauce (if you have canned spaghetti sauce just chop up a carrot, a bit of onion and a bit of celery. Saute in olive oil & add to the canned sauce. It’ll make it taste much better and adds veggies. And if you mash them a bit the kids will never know!)
Grated Mozarella or whatever kind of cheese you happen to have. Unless its American cheese slices. Then you should just go ahead add bacon bits and call it a day. I use mozzarella & Parmesan for the Mr. & kids, Chèvre and Parmesan for me.
Salami & Olives or Pepperoni & Whatever You Want
Biggggggg Glass of Wine
Split the loaves, brush with olive oil. Lightly salt and pepper, broil for 3-4 minutes. Add a light amount of sauce, cheese & toppings. Bake at 400 for 5-10 minutes, until beginning to get crispy.
