Salty Dogs

We had a busy week and an even busier weekend! Wednesday I woke up with the mother of all colds… and went promptly back to bed. And repeated that pattern for the rest of the week. Both kids caught the cold as well and its one of those lovely lingering things, so we are ingesting massive amounts of OJ and making sure we bring Kleenex everywhere we go.

Saturday morning, I dosed myself up with Dayquil and we all headed off for a much anticipated trip to the beach with the Rhodes family. The day could not have been more beautiful and the beach was breathtaking! We managed to successfully shoot family portraits and completely exhaust ourselves. Bliss. The sea air felt great while I was there, but I think I may have overdone it since I’m wheezing and coughing worse than ever today. Still, totally worth it.

We ended up getting home about 10 pm and realized we had not made any Easter eggs. Ooops. So the Easter bunny brought all plastic eggs this year, which the kids didn’t mind at all. After the hunt I went back to bed for awhile while my fabulous husband cleaned the house and did dishes. That is love right there! :) We headed out to mom and dad’s for an Easter BBQ with the family and had a great afternoon hanging out. Jason and my Uncle Milan (who’s only a year older than me!! Hee!!) spent some time shooting my dad’s crossbow… nothing says a family holiday like weapons!

All this laying around feeling like dog poop has me making mental lists of things I need to be doing and even more, things I want to be doing. Things like getting my veggie garden planted. Sewing a new summer wardrobe. Organizing the basement. Again. Writing, writing, writing. Weeding. Spring cleaning. Unfortunately I think I may have a while to go before I’m not pooped out from doing the dishes.

Ivy flying her kite

Ivy actually kept her kite up almost the entire time we were at the beach!

Ozzie

Ozzie was so busy wave hopping, building awesome driftwood forts and exploring caves that this is pretty much the only picture I got of him. Safe to say he had a blast.

Ivy and Liana

Best friends, flying kites.
