You Really Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Fingered a Chicken
by lazys ~ April 23rd, 2008. Filed under: Life & Other Adventures.Serama, the aforementioned biz-natch of my flock, has a prolapsed vent. It’s really, really not a good look for her. She seems fine, eating and pooping and laying eggs like normal, but with her butt inside out.
I isolated her in her very own coop, gave her a cozy blankie, soaked her butt in warm water and attempted to lubricate and push her rear end back in, all to no avail. Actually, it looks a little better, but still yuck. I’m going to stick to warm water and prep-H and hopefully she’ll heal up soon. However I think she will be staying in her own coop, she actually seems much happier.
Off to lube up!! Mmmmmm!
