I’m Special.

And not in a good way.

I tend to embrace new things slowly, if at all. It may be better or faster or more convenient but I have a hard time with change. I can change my clothes, my hair color and the color of my living room walls with no problem… just don’t ask me to divert from my regular route on the way to school. Don’t change my radio station. And definitely do not ask to borrow my pen. Sorry. There are just some things that are sacred.

When it comes to technology and all the gizmos gadgets, add-ons, plugins and whatsits… I tend to lag behind the true tech heads. Even though I love music and am actually very intrigued by the variety of podcasts available, I have yet to get an ipod or MP3 player. In fact, I gave up trying to install Itunes on my computer and just went back to using Windows Media Player simply because it was just more comfortable. I only recently personalized my Google desktop. I will probably never Twitter.

To that end, I signed up for a Flickr account a long time ago. I just never used it. Honestly? It scared me a bit. I couldn’t figure out how to get from here to there and when I did I couldn’t remember how to get back again. It seemed simpler to just keep using Photobucket… they give you the codes, right there at the bottom! Easy peasy!

But then I noticed how huge and unruly my photo folder was getting. So I went on over to Flickr and installed their uploader. Read their basic instructions. Finally figured out how the whole sets & collections thingies work. Spent some time cruising around, seeing how other people organize their photos. I was intrigued. I really don’t have many actual prints of my pictures… I’ve had a digital camera since I was 19 (now those were some crappy pictures!) and even when I used film I rarely ever had the money to get them developed. So I’ve decided that I will dedicate a few hours each week to organizing my digital photos and creating a visual history of our lives. I’m by no means a good photographer. I rely on Phaedra when I want a really nice picture. But I love having pictures of all our little moments… whether they are mundane or magnificent. And I love the fact that I can make notes on each photo, telling the story of why I chose to photograph my husband with a box on his head.

So, once again, I’m behind the times. Snail-like. Special. And here are my boobs to prove it:
