In the Grip of Madness

by lazys ~ August 8th, 2008. Filed under: Projects, Ramblings.

The kind of madness that makes you ignore your sore throat and achy body and forces you to go out and dig out another 15 square foot patch to add onto your garden. Because MORE WEEDING is just what you need.

I often get this madness. Nowadays, I welcome it. I wait for it. I make a list of all the big organizing-cleaning-tearing up and breaking down chores I need to get done and then just wait for the manic to roll in. Seriously? It works.

In the past few days I have:

  • Completely cleaned out and reorganized the garage.
  • Cleaned and organized the basement.
  • Set up a food storage area in the basement.
  • Canned 6 quarts of green beans and 5 quarts of squash.
  • Cleaned my desk and filed paperwork.
  • Organized all my computer folders and bookmarks.
  • Begun organizing all my digital photos.
  • Scanned all my old prints to organize with my digital photos.
  • Cleaned out the bathroom cupboards.
  • Gathered a small pile to contribute to a neighborhood yard sale this weekend.
  • Registered for two classes: History of California & Intro to Native American Literature.

I figure if I am this productive in short bursts it totally negates the hours I spend escaping reality in World of Warcraft. Right? Right.

I think you should come over and work off some of that mad energy at my house.
