Halloween ended with my kids coming into possession of more candy than they can ever possibly eat and me not blowing chunks. Yeah!
Ozzie, the Indian brave. Excuse me, Native American brave. Er, indigenous peoples brave?
Ivy, showing off some Pikachu tail.
Hope you had a good one!

Ivy has amassed quite a collection of makeup supplies lately. A couple of the homes we’ve cleaned out had all kinds of Mary Kay and Avon makeup samples in them, clean and sealed, so I let her have some of them. She has a special box, full of her jewelry and makeup.
(Her dad very nearly [...]

I just washed my five year old’s mouth out with soap. It was not a pleasant experience, for either of us… but something tells me it may have done the job.
It was an actual bad word. Up until now they’ve flirted with toilet humor (although those were declared bad words tonight after a weekend spent [...]

For a long time now I’ve toyed with starting my own clothing/sewing related business of some kind. I’ve made and sold aprons, bags and purses and am always coming up with some grand new scheme. The thing is, to really make a garment perfect and unique takes a lot of work… which I don’t have [...]

I guess I should begin at the beginning.
I’ve never had a career. I’ve had a lot of ideas [...]

This week both kids are home before starting their new grades. Fully expecting not to get much work done, I’ve decided to declare a mini-vacation! We are going to stay up late, have a “camp out” or two in the back yard, watch movies, swim and do a whole bunch of nothing. I’m planning on [...]

I’ve spent the last week working on a redesign of my business website. It’s coming together but I am in dire need of a day away from the computer. Plus, I have this insatiable urge to redecorate. And it just so happens that the kiddo’s room needs some style in a major way. A four [...]

Rather than a butterfly. What? Moths are cool too.
So. My wee ones are getting older. And more social. Well, at least the boy.
The girl inherited the nonexistent social gene that her father and I have and isn’t that keen on playing with others. She has a few friends she plays with, and she does *mostly* [...]
